Frosty Farky - September 27 & 28, 2008

This years’ “Frosty Farky” wasn’t very frosty!  The two days of the match were warm with fair winds and hazy mornings.  We started our match at 9 am each morning in hopes of putting through a record number of competitors.  Thirty four shooters took part in shooting one of four disciplines offered.  This year the classes were F Open, F TR, BR (Bench Rest) and TR (Target Rifle).  And there was stiff competition in all the classes again this year!

The scores were so tight that many of the place standings were decided on a count back of x-count on the competitors score card.

Presentations of all the medals were handed out by Colin Farquharson (George Farquharson’s #3 son) and Lisa, (George’s grand daughter).  Thank you for coming out again this year!

 

Many thanks go out to Ian Hames of “Adams Lake Rifle Barrels” for the donation of a Kreiger rifle barrel for a draw amongst the competitors.  The winner of the draw was Tim Mann, congratulations to you!

 

Thanks also to Paul Reibin who ran the Range as Chief Range Officer, and Mark Anderson the Match Director, and Tim Mann with his help with stats.  Also thank you to the Butts crew who did a superb job this year pulling targets all day long.  You never slowed down!  Thanks to Steve Fraser for help cleaning up after the match, and Don Morphy for set up before, and tidying up during the match.

 

We had a wonderful steak dinner on Saturday night thanks to Mark Horton’s crew for the barbeque.
