300 m Fullbore UIT Match (April 12-13, 2008)The April 300 m UIT match was held the weekend of April 12-13th at the KTSA Long Range under very windy conditions. Over the 2 day match there were 24 competitors shooting one of three classes of Fullbore Rifle. The biggest class was again the F-class shooters (scope) making up for 17 of the competitors. There were four shooters in BR (Bench Rest, scope), and three in TR (Target Rifle, peep sight). I like to differentiate between the classifications for those readers not familiar with this type of competition. There were three strings of 15 shots for record fired on Saturday, and two strings of 15 shots on Sunday making the total score for the two days out of 750 points. Even with the windy conditions, left to right on Saturday, and right to left on Sunday, just to make it interesting. Some phenomenal scores were produced by the F-class shooters!
I’d like to thank all the competitors for their attendance. Attendees came from Alberta, Burns Lake, Sorrento, Logan Lake, and Chilliwack, as well as Kamloops. We also had many new faces, which is great to see! Thanks to the ‘Target Pullers’, some of the comments were that it was some of the best we’ve had! Thank you to Mark Horton for breakfast, lunch and supper service at the range. The steak supper on Saturday was awesome! And thanks to Paul Reibin for being RO, and Mark Anderson for RO, Match director, and just putting up with me! I for one am happy to just be home out of the wind for a change! Great shooting everyone, hopefully we will see most of you back for the “Frosty Farky” at the end of September! Until then we will be practicing our sport on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm on, so if you get a chance, come out and join us! (Reported by Judy Anderson) |
